A and P Show

We entered a yoghurt pottle of flowers and a decorated biscuit each into the A and P show. OK really we made Two decorated biscuits so that wee could eat one!

Phoenix

My sister is sick. She went down to Dad’s house so she can be looked after to get better and go to school with me. I miss Phoenix. Sue doesn’t have anyone to look after. Poor Sue. I hope Phoenix gets better soon. I hope she takes good care of Bella.

Bananas

We had some spare bananas so we stuffed them with chocolate buttons and cooked them in the microwave.

When I Grow Up

When I grow up I want to:

Jaxon: be a spy.
Gryphon: be a spy, a secret agent, a toy seller and a train driver, a submarine driver and a pirate.
Sang: be a soldier and a doctor.
William Sang: be a hot wheel car driver.
Nico: be a soldier and a pilot.
India: be a running racer and do obstacle jumping.
Ethan: be a soldier.

Purple Bean Day

Mrs Sumby brought some purple beans to school but then she lost them. She had to go looking in her car but they weren't there. She had to empty her red bag to find them. She thought the seeds would be purple and so did we, but they were brown. Yuk!
We made seedling pots out of newspaper and then planted the seeds into soil raising mix. Gryphon dropped his seed exactly in the middle.
Erin watered the seeds for us.
Now we are waiting for them to grow up.

Surprise Visitor.

We had a surprise visitor today. Ronald McDonald came to visit all the juniors and new entrants.
He taught us a poem.

Watch out for sneaky driveways too.

Digging Day

 The digger came to school to clean up the area where the library used to be ready for the next building to be put there. The driver had great control of the digger and was able to pick up all sorts of rubbish to take away on the truck. He even picked up an old seat.

Puppy Time

Ethan's family has got a very young puppy. She has been to the vet to be checked over. She has to drink special milk and she needs lots of looking after. We think she is really cute!

Moving buildings

The crane was at school to move the old library to its new home.

Snow at Victory

On Monday it snowed just before lunchtime. There wasn't enough to stay on the ground but we could feel it and see it. It was awesome!

A girl called Bandana was running. She was playing tag with the cat and Ginger.

The Fox.

Once upon a time there lived a fox. His name was Foxy Loxy. The fox will eat the gingerbread man.

The Gingerbread Man.

“I am hungry. I’m going to make a gingerbread man,” Grandma shouted. “Let’s eat a gingerbread man.”

“Yay,” said the children but the cat chased the gingerbread man and ate it.

“Yum, yum. I love the gingerbread man!”

Once upon a time there was a dog and a friendly wolf and a boy named Gingerbread Man. One day they played hide and seek. Another day they went up to space.

The fox and the cat called Ginger went shopping and Ginger got some bars.

Yesterday a cat and a dog played with Ginger. They were having fun with Ginger, then the fox ate Ginger! The cat and the dog tried to fight the fox but the fox scared them so they ran away.

The dog and the cat were playing tag and a gingerbread man came over to play tag too.

The next day the gingerbread man was playing hide and seek and the fox came over and the cat came over too. They all played hide and seek.

“I caught a dog called Scooby Dooby Doo,” said Fox. Then I ate him.

The mother cat ran away from the fox. The Ginger boy was running from the cat and he was running really, really fast. The fox ate the Ginger boy. The fox and the cat both ate him and then the fox ate the cat and the Ginger boy was free.

Once upon a time a little girl wanted to play soccer but the fox wanted to play hide and seek. The little girl didn’t like hide and seek. The fox got angry and the girl got angry and then they went away.

Gingerbread People

We had a gingerbread day. We decorated gingerbread people with icing and smarties and made gingerbread pictures in kidpix.

Honey Crunch

We made honey crunch to see if it would be a good replacement for a bought bar.

125 g butter
1/2 C sugar
2 d honey
Boil these together for 4 minutes.
Carefully mix in 4 C rice bubbles

We made it in an electric frypan so couldn't cook it that long!
It was quite good though.

Squishy Egg

We covered a raw egg with vinegar and then left it for 2 days. When we felt it the egg felt spongy and squishy. There was lots of froth and scum in the vinegar because the egg shell had dissolved in the vinegar. Some people wanted to take some of the egg home so Mrs Sumby got the knife and cut into it. Oops! There was a strong rubbery membrane around the egg but it was still raw egg inside! We have poured the vinegar back over the egg to see what happens to that.

Colour Mixing Race.

We had a colour mixing race. We put milk into a container then added a few drops of different coloured food colouring. We put a drop of detergent in the middle. It went all swirling and whirling. It made awesome patterns.
Room 18

Butterfly

Today we have a butterfly!
This morning we noticed that the butterfly had hatched out of the chrysalis. It sat there with its wings folded for quite awhile and then flew over to the window. It seemed to get a bit stuck there so Mrs Sumby had to help it out the window. Once it was outside it very quickly flew up over the roof and out of sight.

Duffy Assembly

Today Tony Williams visited our school as the Duffy Role Model. He was hilarious! He has written lots of books and at least a million words. On his best day he wrote about 14000 words! We really love getting our new Duffy books too and we spent heaps of time reading our new books today.
