International Space Station

Wow! What a day on Friday. It was hard to comprehend that we were sitting in the community centre talking to 2 astronauts on the International Space Station 350 km above Santa Rosa, California! They were travelling at 27000 km/hr so we did not get to talk for long.
Apparently they burn their trash in space, it can be quite cold in space, they have a sponge bath with a damp towel to get clean and they find it quite comfortable to sleep as their are no pressure points. They tend to use internet phones as they don't have cell phones but the reception is quite good. Earth looks alive and amazing from space. One of the things they are trying to do is see how plants grow in space.
We were talking to them just after 12:30 but it was only 10:16am there.
