Today we have a butterfly!
This morning we noticed that the butterfly had hatched out of the chrysalis. It sat there with its wings folded for quite awhile and then flew over to the window. It seemed to get a bit stuck there so Mrs Sumby had to help it out the window. Once it was outside it very quickly flew up over the roof and out of sight.

Duffy Assembly
Today Tony Williams visited our school as the Duffy Role Model. He was hilarious! He has written lots of books and at least a million words. On his best day he wrote about 14000 words! We really love getting our new Duffy books too and we spent heaps of time reading our new books today.
Caterpillars
We have been watching the caterpillars eat all of the swan plants. The plants disappeared really quickly. One of the caterpillars started to turn into a chrysalis but then it stopped. We are not sure why - maybe it had not eaten enough or maybe someone touched it. We do have one chrysalis though and it is just starting to change colour so we hope to have a butterfly soon.
